more quick previews...

aside a lot of unfinished and missing stuff, water looks terrible right now(it's a choice about volume not getting light or water not getting refraction). But once Dade brings us sds caustics I'm aiming for something like this:

PhotonGI going wild on me.. those colors it's giving me aren't even on any materials in the scene...

photongi defaults:
The attachment b4b.jpg is no longer available
photongi custom settings(there's no settings that gets rid of all problems):
The attachment b4b2.jpg is no longer available
no photongi:

This happened to me also while working on one commercial scene where I had in one place in the scene strong red spot in GI while there was absolutely nothing red in the scene, spent all day figuring out where this leak comes from and what settings to use, in the end I had to disable photongi completely casue reflections were just too wild.

In this scene I don't need photonGI but even if I could somewhat benefit from it, reflections are just crazy and completely wrong

What kind of HDRI do you use? Do you have a blue sky?
Looks like reflections from outdoors on the surface of the water.

I don't use hdri (I almost never do) it's sky and sun...

Oh my god I think I know what's happening there

So, part of the problem... also affecting photongi precalc time a LOT was a big 10km square ocean plane :D that was using photongi
I disabled it in material and also disabled pool water material from those calculations but I'm still seeing some truly insane blue spots

hm.. I don't know how to deal with this issue, If I use a lot of photons and large lookup radius everything almost looks good, but even then I always get at least 1 or 2 super saturated spots here and there that affect rendering strongly.

I need a test scene to be able to investigate the problem.
