I'm not sure if you noticed this, but you forgot the throw in the nodes in that .zip. It's fine though, I figured it out I think :P

Sorry for the long wait, summer class had priority. Been using a new method of modeling the pieces with the FreeCAD program, been getting great results with a bit of cleanup in Blender.

Been doing some slight tweaks to the pointiness value on the edges, turned out to be too overbearing.

Recent changes to how I was approaching the shader have warranted an update. After following Sharly's tutorial on SSS I gave the LEGO materials a rework, and I am very happy with what happened.

I set the Opacity of the material to around 0.65 for this to work the way it should, although it might be a bit too transparent. There's a bit of bleed-through on the wing that is closest to the camera.

Nearing the end of my journey with making materials for the bricks, at long last :D

Here's a pretty decent-looking speckled black-silver color:
