So, playing around with octane there is a neat way of controlling sky and sunset color in addition to ground color.

Would it be possible for luxcore to also have this under user control?

What would that mean, in detail?

Well basically you define what color sky is when sun is straight above and then what color it shifts to when it's nearing horizon.

Defaults would represent colors we have now and those would basicaly be just two rgb inputs(thats what it is in octane, skycolor and sunset color)

It is more of an modification cause other parameters still apply (turbidity)...

So while you as a user input directly a color in the settings, it's still acting more like a filter.

Biggest advantage is clearly to whitebalance and control saturation of daylight colors, but you can also just shift colors or boost saturation for sky or sunset individually.

PS: if we had in future also an environment override(for camera, reflections...) we could even have one color setup for camera and another for lighting (just to neutralize the lighting colors for exampe while keep reflections and backdrop saturated)

Just bumping here news about Corona Sky in Corona 6
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUm8OnvdRXc

For those who know Corona Sky system, the Rawa-fake model is great for interiors (And I believe for exterior too), but that's another thing

On their forum they also mentioned they are working on a cloud system.
Probably some procedural background shader, maybe with some cloud shadow emulation. That could be a killer feature
