Did hit a similar issue while doing RBD sim, but after i cached or baked it, it rendered as it should.

Simple test scene for sun light. My camera has 5.6 aperture, 1/500 shutter speed and 100 iso. If I need to use lower shutter speed, let's say 1/50, picture gets too bright. Just to be clear: this allow the usage of Optix with open source projects but it still require an NVIDIA GPU as Optix only works there, it is mandatory, not an option ... not exactly a small detail. source: Ton Roosendaal @ twitterNVIDIA released Optix (ray-trace library) as part of drivers install, making it compatible with GPL and Blender. Another great step is NVIDIA releasing material library MDL as BSD. NVIDIA is happy to support us making it all happen. More details in coming months.
