Blender 2.79 and 2.8 at the same time

Might there be any troubles with Blender 2.79 if I install 2.8 now? Does it overwright something, e.g. plugins or profile files?

Re: Juice Sun, CPU BiDir vs. openCL light path pgic indir cache

Since this hard-trying-looking-for-clean-bright-yellow-grail-week-end I prefer the engine running 28.5 times faster the rather annoying dirty deep-mud sledge-race in my rig, not only for its speed but also for its polished gloss reflections, despite the nasty shadow exhausted at the white wall's bo...

Re: dark juice

We need physically plausible results, consistent, convincing looking and efficient to render. We need flexibility for both artistic and optimization purposes. Even people at next limit allow maxwell render to do dirty tricks like hiding objects from shadow rays or reflections etc because it is simp...

Re: dark juice

Before making tricky code modification. Is there on earth a valid and non-biased way to make a juice look just normal like in real life ? i mean without hack. From what I found: Unbiased Photon Gathering is great, but unable to do SDS paths. Connection-based alghorithms can do SDS, but are biased. ...

Re: dark juice

here's cycles, I don't like the juice look but it demonstrates how it never gets darker in glass (this is without disabling shadows or anything) Of course it never gets darker, but you're comparing incomparable. Principled BSDF's SSS is fake. I mean, there's no point comparing these two scenes. Ok,...

Re: BiDir Today. In the large shadow of Hybrid Path with PGIC

A few weeks ago, Dade introduced the new option for the CPU and openCL path render, so called hybrid or back-, forward or light tracking. Since this introduction BiDir path (Bi-Directional / eye and light path) lost most of common interest. The new option is much faster than BiDir with same or even...

Re: dark juice

so the question is if it can be fixed Maybe this would work http://iliyan.com/publications/VertexMerging or this https://graphics.pixar.com/library/CausticConnections/paper.pdf and this I think claims to be better than those above https://www.academia.edu/20210556/Unbiased_Photon_Gathering_for_Ligh...

Re: dark juice

I'd buy a pack of juice and shoot a reference, but I currently have no sun available and probably won't have for few days.
But we know already that luxcore currently has no way to make diffuse volume in a glass right.
