Re: When is principled shader coming out?
Back to topic :) From my experience in Blender/Cycles and Cheetah3D on the Mac side diffuse materials with PBR shaders render slower than with simple diffuse nodes. That is because the principled shader has specular/glossy reflection at 50% by default and makes it diffuse via roughness and fresnel. ...

Re: Python37.dll conflict error
I think the solution I came up with (back before I got the RTX card, when I could use the same instance of Blender) was to just have 1 file dedicated to Cycles, and a copy dedicated to LuxCore. That's a great idea. My problem is that I develop everything on my Mac and then use the fast PC for rende...

Re: Python37.dll conflict error
If I want to switch I have to save the scene, close Blender and open the other version which is no problem. In fact there might be a problem when saving a file with the nightly build (Cycles) and then opening it with the official version (LuxCore). I was just struggling with a file causing mysterio...

Re: BlendLuxCore2.1 crashing
Just got an idea from another thread: It is possible that I opened and saved the file with the nightly build of Blender that I need for nVidia RTX support in Cycles. There are changes in the material system there that might have messed up things. I need to remind myself not to save anything with tha...

Re: Python37.dll conflict error
RTX 2070 + GTX 1060 with Ryzen 2700X here. I use the official Blender 2.79b with LuxCore add-on. RTX card works well in BlendLuxCore but not in Cycles. Parrallel I have a master build of 2.79 that supports RTX cards in Cycles, but LuxCore engine is not available there. So switching between Cycles an...

Re: BlendLuxCore2.1 crashing
Now with reassigned textures and OpenCL imagepipeline disabled apparently it works well. Nope, crashed later after 1-2 hours of rendering. I've come to think the file may be corrupted. I tested other versions of the scene and those render fine no matter what engine. Also the official Lux benchmark,...

Re: BlendLuxCore2.1 crashing
The textures are messed up because I am constantly transferring files from Mac to PC and back again, with different texture paths on each system. I was used to reassign the textures in the image nodes, now that I used your suggestion "Find Missing Files" instead it works better. I'm render...

BlendLuxCore2.1 crashing
My old causticcube file crashes Blender with BlendLuxCore 2.1 (release/beta4/beta3) It is difficult to reproduce, blender crashes without windows notification and there's no crash.txt in the TEMP directory. But on MacOSX I found crashlogs. Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGSEGV) Exception Codes: 0x00000...

Re: LuxCoreRender v2.1 released
 ... fractal chats ... Base mesh generated with Mandelbulber 2.16 . Export .ply & Import to Blender. Remeshed with OpenVDB Remesh and solidified. Of course, render with LuxCoreRender BiDir under single Area Lamp ~ at center of the mesh... a bit off, but pointing down. :D ... scene...
