Re: How to imitate real world materials

Hi, I've updated my real world material node. Now there is a reflection, transmission and absorption portion available. Each, the reflective and transmittive portion, could be separated into lambertian, gaussian and specular elements. Node_ext.jpg While testing the node setup an strange behaviour co...

Re: How to imitate real world materials

Hi, Not yet. This my first test for working with values. Those numbers came more or less free from mind. Let's assume I've a real sample in front of me. How would you test whether is representation in luxcorerender is right? I can't reproduce the lighting conditions of my appartment easily (quickly)...

Re: How to imitate real world materials

I dont't get it. I thought this is the logic: Section 1 Mixed with 0.5 factor (so 50% M1 and 50% M2) M1 Glossy with 0.1 roughness (Color 0 (black) Diffuse and 1 (white) for specular color) M2 Mirrot (Color 1 (white)) Section 2 Mixed with 0.2 factor (so 20% M1 and 80% M2) M1 Matte material (Color 1 (...

Re: How to imitate real world materials

Hi,

thanks for your support:
Is that the right nodetree to fullfil the describes requirements?

To see more details - this is the related blend file:

How to imitate real world materials

Hello all, I'm a bit lost while trying to create a specific material. There are lots of numbers in node tree and I don't know what they are exactly doing. This is an very simple example, maybe someone could help me to create the first node tree for that. From light measurements I know that the surfa...

Re: Moving from classic LuxRender

Hi,

Just tested BYOB cloud scene on the network render with the latest built that you've recommended.

It was working just fine. So I've to sort out thing on my machines.

Thanks for your support, the issue seems to be closed for a while.

Thanks.

Re: Moving from classic LuxRender

Hi Sorry for that long break on this topic. All my left tests were not successful. I 've tested several (also older) drivers for GPU and classical local rendering works fine with GPU support. Only the network rendering stoppes while compiling the OCL Kernel. Even if there is no OCL functionality act...

Re: Distorted window

Hi all, Thank you dir all you (philosophic) input. Yes, you're right, varying the IOR on surfaces only is not the truth... a volumemetric IOR variation would be the more correct description. Sounds like a nice feature for scientists but I don't see a real application that makes it necessary to imple...

Re: Distorted window

Simply because I know that distorting a window with bump is working. Fenster_4.jpg My goal is to figure out how works while influencing the IOR. Are you 100% sure that in real world only geometric variations are the root cause of this reflections. I believe that glass production also creates some IO...

Re: Distorted window

Hi, I've tried to integrate your suggestion into a working node tree. This is my attempt and I think it's too complicated: Fenster_tree.jpg At least it seems to work somehow, my goal is to distort the direct reflection of the windows. Fenster_3.jpg Fenster_5.jpg Comparing this two results it seems t...
