I can reproduce it on Windows.
However it only happens in final render, not in viewport render.

I mean the walls are made of "glossy " (something not very common) I have to disagree. If you look at a typical white wall in the real world at a shallow angle (because of fresnel effect), you'll notice that it shows glossy reflections. Walls usually have a high roughness and dark specula...

I try to avoid filling my GPU memory with a giant HDRI that you only see 10% of (where the camera is looking).
I should probably do it differently: Use low-resolution HDRI with transparent film and then add the backplate in compositing. However the reflection in the water would not match in that case.

An update. I'm now using a cropped portion of an HDRI on the light emitting plane in the background, mixed with the JPG I had earlier, for a bit better lighting. Still had to resort to a fake sun (coming somewhere from the left) to get a nice rim light. Unfortunately I can't make the light emitting ...

turn arround suzane and tell me if all is correct. look the eye from the side and back/top. The suzanne model is non-manifold, which makes it unsuited for anything with transparent/translucent materials.
