Re: (Open)Subdiv and Displacement shapes

Here's a comparison with and without displacement.

Re: Blender Scene and Modeling Units

Unless materials and lights in Luxcore aren't affected, I'm fine with using a Unit Scale of 0.01. If it's only about f-stop and DOF - I don't mind.

Re: Blender Scene and Modeling Units

I would hope that it doesn't matter as I'm used to work in centimeters. And just for clarification it would be nice to know if a "Unit Scale" other than 1 has any impact on rendering (I'm using 0.01).

Re: 陰陽 Gold and diamonds pendant

Great job on the modelling. The lighting setup and choice of DOF confuses me a bit though.

Re: Call for simple example images for the new features in v2.5

Forget about my previous comment (somewhat). There might be some issue with the Random Local option. Look at this comparison. Both transformations should be 45° on each axis, yet they look different. The Local option looks quite nice, while the Random Local might have an issue with the transitions. ...

Re: Call for simple example images for the new features in v2.5

While I was testing the 3D Mapping with Triplanar Mapping is was obvious that the random rotation isn't working too well. I could work around it with individual 2D mappings, but a smarter way would be to maybe adapt the 3D Mapping node a bit. How about adding a "Triplanar Rotation" checkbo...

Re: Call for simple example images for the new features in v2.5

The color ramp was a remainder of a Triplanar Test which I did before (which made me think of an improvement that I will post in a sec).

Here's the proper version.
