Re: Nested groups break in Lxs import
ah right, its the exporter, but I can change it I think Nigec, it would be nice to create a new repository for the SketchUp exporter at https://github.com/LuxCoreRender with an update version. Going trough old LXS format isn't ideal but it is still better than nothing and more user could benefit fr...

Re: LuxCoreRender Project wants you!
That's great. Here is my GitHub id: omidt.gh@gmail.com please add my id so I can upload the last code and start working on it. Also, I need access to the forum (LuxMax plugin) to moderate it, of course, if it's possible and access to write LuxMax wiki too. I invited you on GitHub and created a new ...

Re: Nested groups break in Lxs import
Yes, null material is invisible for all rays so it is like if the object is not there. Can you change the material of the light source or is it done by the exporter ?

Re: LuxCore promo clip
I was thinking maybe more a bit more directed approach It would be really nice but it takes a LOT of work, an artistic director and a lot more to do something like that. I'm not against it at all but we should be sure it is doable before to start. At first, I was thinking to something a bit more li...

Re: LuxCore promo clip
It is a while I would like to put together a demo reel. I can look into the problem of doing the rendering but, for anything artistic-related, don't look at me.
How hard can be to put together 60secs of animations ?

Re: PhotonGI cache
Maybe we should investigate how often plain fly-throughs are even used. I can imagine that in a professional production they are often too limited, in most cases e.g. for archviz you want some curtains moving in the wind, trees in the wind, falling leaves etc. In that cases, PhotonGI cache will hav...

Re: Blog
Dade, what do you think of this idea? The forum "News" section is, from my point of view, a Blog. Only people with Developer forum rank can create a new post there but we can easily add a new forum rank for this task and give anyone we want the right to post there. However perception may ...

Re: PhotonGI cache
Yes, you can do all you mentioned and more in Blender. Almost any parameter can be animated. So yes, a list of transformation matrices is not enough. The question is if it worth it. I mean can easily add the support for "Fly-trough" VRay-like animation mode where you move around only a si...

Re: PhotonGI cache
AFAIK vray has an "walkthrough" option, so it either recalculates cache per frame or incrementally adds new cache entries From VRay manual (https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VRAY3MAX/Light+Cache+Settings): Mode – Determines the rendering mode of the light cache: Single frame – Computes ...

Re: PhotonGI cache
In many cases interior rendering is done in only one room, would it be possible here to disable visibility/metropolis distribution and render a cache for the complete room that then would work with any possible camera position/animation inside? Yes, if you switch from the PhotonGI METROPOLIS sample...
