Re: High-res LEGO bricks testing

Still trying to find a good roughness value that's accurate to bricks in real life, as well as bevel amounts. Here is a picutre taken by me, you can use it like you want. There are a few things you should have a closer look at to get a more realistic shape. In your case I would add your own logo on...

High-res LEGO bricks testing

Hey there folks, bringing in some tests for some high-resolution LEGO bricks that I'm modeling on the side. Using the LDraw equivalents as a reference for these. I'm hoping to eventually have all of the parts in that database modeled out for future LEGO renders. Including beveling on the edges. Here...

Re: Gemstone Dispersion Test

Modeling the gem itself took around 5-10 minutes :) I use diagrams that I browse for on faceting websites (I usually follow them by mere glances instead of tracing them directly in Blender, unless absolutely necessary) I feel that having an exact trace can potentially detract from human errors in th...

Re: Gemstone Dispersion Test

Sorry for being inactive, rather busy now as of late. College classes fast approaching most importantly. Decided to return to an old lighting setup that always works well for this kind of thing. I'm sure many of you from the old forums will recognize it if you look hard enough :P I had to modernize ...

Re: LEGO® 7111 Droid Fighter Recreation

I love this LEGO thing, now if someone could do a LuxBall made of LEGO :D I'm attempting this right now, in fact :P Proving to be quite a challenge for my PC. Had to get Brickr, which takes .obj files and converts them to Lego models. Probably easier in the long run. Have to put them to rather larg...

Re: LEGO® 7111 Droid Fighter Recreation

Model itself is done, now just the environment.

Here's how it looks currently (going to rig this as well so that it can go from its regular flying mode to where it's "docked" like in the movies, standing up)

LEGO® 7111 Droid Fighter Recreation

Hey all, I'm back with a LEGO® render. Recreating the Droid Fighter set from the 1999 Star Wars theme. Using the newly updated LDraw importer developed by TonyLobster, which can be found here . Having very good luck with this addon for multiple reasons. Mainly: Most of the cleanup and beveling optio...

Re: Custom node group to apply colors

I had that idea in the past, too: to make a special node for stencil textures. But maybe we can also make it more generalized, e.g. try to emulate Blender node groups for example. Maybe we can add/remove input and output sockets to a pointer node (and have a new input node and dynamic outputs on th...

Re: Custom node group to apply colors

Alright, I have something like this: example.png The ones highlighted are the ones I'd like to change, the top ones stay at #00000 because those are being used to assign the bottom color to a texture for assignment. To give context, I have a set of textures that place material types in certain secti...

Custom node group to apply colors

Just have a quick question / possible feature request (more than likely low priority, but just an idea): Would it be possible to implement some form of custom nodework for materials, such that we could group together some color nodes into one bigger version and be able to say exchange colors based o...
