Re: High-res LEGO bricks testing

Back after a pretty decent hiatus. I've picked up a few tricks on topology from my 3D modeling class (we're using Maya 2018 in that one, but I still prefer Blender for home use) and wanted to apply it here. Plus, I read up on how to simulate edge wear using the Pointiness values, and I've implemente...

Re: High-res LEGO bricks testing

I'm curious about this: how long does it take to correct the topology of a Freecad export in Blender? I tried sometimes to export from CADs, but fixing them was sooo looooong... that I wondered if maybe it was worth to model directly in Blender. For me, I simply took small sections of the model and...

Re: High-res LEGO bricks testing

I apologize for the lack of updates -- college courses had the high priority, and with the semester coming to a close, I have more time to devote to this. One of my upcoming classes involves 3D modeling as well, so this is good to get back into lol Anyway, I've decided to adopt a new workflow to mak...

Re: Accessing Node Properties using Python?

Ahh, that was all I needed. Thanks, B.Y.O.B :) I know where to go from here. It now sees my nodes.

Re: Accessing Node Properties using Python?

I have a series of Mix nodes for RGB colors, about 9 in total - a group of 8, four of which are for diffuse, the other four for specular highlights. The last one is for emission. I know how to do it for Cycles no issues, but I don't know how to point to LuxCore specifically. All I am trying to do is...

Accessing Node Properties using Python?

I remember in the old LuxRender we could access the specific nodes using Luxrender-specific keywords. Is that still possible? I've been attempting to change colors using a script and so far I've had no success.

Re: Diamonds

Hi guys ! @Lights_and_Shadows Really detailed suggestion you gave me there ! Thousands thanks cause it sure makes me wanna try it out ! :D I wonder tho if simulating the whole lightning studio does impact the render time significantly. I'll try to give it a shot next week and report here what I fou...

Re: Diamonds

If I may, I want to offer a suggestion for you :) What I did for my gemstone renders is actually create a whole lighting studio, including lights. I started with a cube, cutting out a portion of one side to have an opening to "place" the gemstone in, as well as sticking a plane inside it t...

Re: High-res LEGO bricks testing

Yeah, I wasn't able to fit in the custom stud logos, not in the way I need them to. Oh well.

With that said, here's another render. This time it's the 1x1 brick, round with fins. A bit more difficult to model properly like this, but it was done. Rather elegant too.
