Interesting to see how well M1 Max scales with CPU+GPU while in the new Metal patch for Cycles adding CPU to GPU is useless.

Re: LuxCore static on macOS .. finally
Is now in master. Awesome, works like a charm! Tested latest build BlendLuxCore 2.61 on Blender 3.0.1-macos-x64 on MacOS 12.1 on MacBookAir M1, various scenes, CPU and OCL. Looks like Blender 2.93 can now get retired, thanks very much! I don't know about the state of the Windows and Linux versions ...

Re: OCL broken on MacOS 12.1
Thanks @TAO, I didn't post in the dev thread because it was about building mainly. It's the same old story with Apple messing up their drivers leaving devs and users in despair. I've been testing further, standalone LuxCore.app 2.3 and 2.4 work with Cornell scene in PathOCL on M1 Mac, OS 12.1. Versi...

OCL broken on MacOS 12.1
GPU rendering with OCL was working wonderfully on MacOS 12.0 on my MacBook Air M1. After updating to 12.1 viewport render throws tis error in Blender cube default scene: Blender2.93LuxCore2.6a.jpg Switching film device to CPU in preferences solves this, but when trying GPU render the same error show...

Re: Cycle X (and OpenCL)
CyclesX is going to do Caustics Now This is going to be very interesting, though no competition to Lux atm due to restrictions (no reflective caustics): https://developer.blender.org/D13533 Cycles develops at breakneck speed (Cycles-X, HIP, Metal, Caustics, ...) while LuxCore seems to be in lockdow...

Re: LuxCore static on macOS .. finally
Here is a test version for all macOS users. I needed to manually permit several files but then Blender opened and rendered two different scenes. I'll keep it installed and report if a problem occurs. On MacBook Air M1, OS 12.0.1, Blender 2.93.5 Intel (Rosetta). Edit: There is one difference to the ...
