Re: PhotonGI cache

another question:

if I launch a final render with border, the PGI calculation is reduced by the area I'm rendering or it's always a full frame calculation?

Re: PhotonGI cache

https://i.imgur.com/tM1DBSL.jpeg higher material roughness value , more red image as soon as I go little over the PGI glossiness threshold, the image becomes more blue. https://i.imgur.com/Ky0raNS.jpeg If I put the PGI glossiness threshold over the mat roughness, the image becomes (correctly) full ...

Re: PhotonGI cache

coming back to PGI... I have a scene with a glossy wodden floor and curtains with glossy translucent material and they're noiser than the walls and other objects are using matte materials. I've seen, using the the PGI debug mode "show indirect/path mix" that floor and curtains are red. I'v...

Re: 2.5a and pointer a material

I'm not sure why you would need such a node setup, but I have pushed a change that makes this possible. Actually you're right.. it was just for "scene materials organization". I had a material named "A" that had a initial setup and then I'd like to test how it should be using th...

Re: 2.5a: Env cache and matte traslucent mat

maybe a workarround can be glossy transclucent with high roughness value + two side mode enable. Thank you Sharlybg! It's working really good..more than matte translucent. https://i.imgur.com/DyooHDZ.jpg In any case...I think that there is something strange with that matte traslucent material.

Re: 2.5a: Env cache and matte traslucent mat

when I use matte...I alwasys use a not-closed surface...like a plane.
I don't have thickness for those curtains.

2.5a: Env cache and matte traslucent mat

I'm testing Env cache for an interior.
It seems that Env Cache has some problems with matte traslucent material.
As caches...I'm using just PGI and Env cache.

In the mean time, you can just disable Optix in BlendLuxCore preferences and it should fix the problem.
I have a GTX1070.

Tried disabling Optix and no more problem with roughness.
With Optix on, Disney or Glossy Coating (with a matte as base) material renders fine.

Re: Roughness value and rendering speed

it seems that the glossy coating material is not affected by this issue.
with 0.001 as roughness, it renders fast as higher values.
