Re: LuxCoreRender v2.3 features poll

I implemented guided path tracing in old LuxRender and results weren't good. As far as I know, neither the authors 's paper (some Corona developer) are so found of it because it is not used in Corona too. I don't know about Corona, but according to this very recent paper the Guys from Pixar, Render...

Re: Dusty air

I like this new window composition very much (again)!
Especially how the Ferris wheel is hidden: It makes me shift my head - then laugh about myself

(Sorry to be of no help with the blending but here's no compo skills.)

Just take your time, we can use it via LuxCoreUI already :)

Re: Hotel pool area concept design

Great stuff, good choice of angles too.

With Hybrid + SDS-cache Dade has delivered another ingenious solution making things possible in short time that would've taken hours or days before.
(Time for 2.3alpha0 release I think :D )

Re: LuxCore v2.3 proposed features

BiDir must exist (and needs solution for SDS) to be the full featured "holistic" reference renderer. Yep, and that would be: New complete Bidirectional path tracing with vertex merging (BIDIRCPUVM) BiDirVM currently is an option in LuxCoreUI but it is broken (though @Fox has managed to ge...

Re: LuxCore v2.3 proposed features

If Bidir have to exist it need more love , a kind performance boost via online learning algo: guided bidir I agree on path guiding for BiDir, perhaps instead of developing an online learning algorithm the already existing PGI photon cache could be used? Edit: Thinking about it, using PGI makes no s...

I like the first one best.
It looks like it is rendered in a cube, would like to see a render in a sphere too :)

Dade wrote: Tue Oct 01, 2019 9:11 am try 2M photons and 2spp update.
Is there any reason to possibly have higher sample step value?
In my testing with caustic cache I ended always with lowest step possible and then adjusting photon count.

Maybe spp should be fixed to a low value (one less parameter to expose).
