Re: cannot see reflection of light spot

Dade wrote: Sun Dec 20, 2020 3:02 pm They are called SDS paths (Specular-Diffuse-Specular) and they can be rendered only by using PhotonGI caustic cache. Normal BiDir can not render that kind of light path at all.
May I ask: In two words - why it's cannot be rendered even using BiDir?

Re: Hair material

I´m trying to make "fur" for a rug. In Cycles, it´s possible to use the material of the emitter, in the hair. I noted that this is possible in Lux, too, but hair keep rendering in black color. How can I fix it? Capturar.JPG Man, it's all onto bump. Also in Cycles usually used second mater...

Re: Displacement Problem

Dade wrote: Sun Dec 06, 2020 11:24 pm As far as I remember, you have to set the mesh to smooth in order to not have the faces to "explode" across the sharp edges.
I did right like u said and get interesting result.

After UV reset everything is ok

Re: Volume Intersect Problem

It make sense from my pov. Don't remenber any use of opacity for them in my daily work. I grab this marble material from example scene, where dish behind is a marble, and tried to combine it in complex scene with smoke around it. It's not a daily work, yes, but it's an artistic way to doin things. ...

But usually there are always this black rim. Sometimes brighter, sometimes darker

I think it depends on what you are looking for. Stability for production or for new features and bug fixes.

Re: Smoke shadow is fake

For the dark glass, it always rendered dark and I don't know why even if I have set the bounce value to 20 (BiDir + Metropolis). Maybe it's because of the HDRI. Anyway, there is an option in material output called Shadow Catcher if it's what you mentioned before, but it's unusable in the BiDir engi...

Re: Smoke shadow is fake

And it fails to render the shadow of the smoke domain either, as you can see from the attachment, the shadow is cubic rather than the correct vapor shadow. Shadow color controls through material output node. Dark glass - rise light bounce. And I notice - for correct shape of volume -rise mesh densi...

Re: Volume Intersect Problem

It is working fine here: and it wasn't before (the posted scene doesn't include smoke data so I'm using an homogeneous volume both cases). What kind of result do you get ? I'm still on last automatic build (4 days ago) And problem still there, see pics - with heterogeneous and homogeneous effect ar...
