Yes you are right, the stones look rather not sharp. But I don't know exactly why, and I don't think it is the f-stop (0.02 I have used it many times like this), because all the stones lost their sharp edges... And I noticed way after publishing this render :D :P :lol: I guess I was focusing on too ...

The glare, yes indeed the glare effect through composite in Blender turns generally bad for jewels (in something like 90% of the cases)... I made in photo paint . Obviously for animation that would be another matter...
