Sub-Surface Scattering
Hi, I've rendered a scene using LuxCore and Cycles, and although I like LuxCore's shaders, lighting and shadows better, to me Cycles wins in the SSS area. I used Random Walk SSS in Cycles, which is the same algorithm as LuxCore uses, unless I'm mistaking. LuxCoreRender version: Happy Halloween by Me...

Re: Little Octane adventure
Someone just pointed out to me that in LuxCore you're also expected to turn off Blender Color Management and activate it in the LuxCore camera. :D Didn't know that yet. Not really, you can use Blender's color management and the LuxCore imagepipeline together. Thanks. Good to know that. It's what I ...

Little Octane adventure
So I decided to go on a little adventure trying Octane Render, creating a Halloween birthday cake image. metin-seven_stylized-3d-illustrator_creepy-scary-horror-birthday-cake-character.png My conclusion: it's a fine renderer, but I prefer LuxCoreRender, because: 1. I like the look of LuxCore's rende...

Re: spectral rendering
Good points, I largely agree. I regard Luxcore as the Rolls Royce of Blender renderers: it's not the fastest car, but it is the most polished, attractive car for rendering connaisseurs. If I may direct the devs to an area that would benefit a lot from improvement: LuxcoreRender SSS is great, but dif...

Re: spectral rendering
It'd be great if LuxcoreRender gets more recognized among 3D users. It is a truly great renderer, ahead of Cycles in multiple areas.
Once Luxcore gets more user attention, more donations and interested developers will follow.
