Re: Foggy Hallway Scene

In the camera properties, you choose the volume node tree that should be used as external camera volume.

Re: Foggy Hallway Scene

You probably forgot to set the camera volume.

Re: Very long wait for caches enabled

Brute force radius scale has no influence on the cache building time, it only influences rendering performance after the cache is built. @OP: Can you provide a stripped-down simplified testscene that still shows the problem? Try removing textures, replacing high-poly objects with simplified meshes, ...

Re: Luxcore Optix crash investigation

Btw what is this new info means in light tracing? Separate samples for LT? Samples for eye and light are now shown separately. Only eye samples are used for halt conditions, so it was confusing to see "600/500 Samples" before and wondering why it doesn't stop, while now it shows as "Samples 450/500...

Re: Rendering

How would I create something that looks like this: I would try a mix with rough glass, maybe driven by a texture for the mix amount. BTW with luxcore it is a good thing to work at object real world scale. It is going to save you lot of headaches Why would be better? This is a good idea most of the ...

Re: CPU + GPU

The tooltip says "Use GPU(s) and optionally the CPU". Granted, nobody has time to read all the tooltips, and it's not obvious behind which tooltip the relevant information is all the time.

Re: Sub-Surface Scattering

I was thinking: how come in real life certain materials have a certain light, almost glowing SSS, as if the light is perfectly scattered inside the volume without the surface or volume significantly decreasing the light strength. Can you post some reference photos that show the effect you mean? I h...

Re: Sub-Surface Scattering

Btw giving how easy it is to setup volume in other renderer i think we should make Luxcore implementation more convenient. The current way is even too hard to setup for me considering how used i'am to luxcore it is definetly not user friendly. Do you mean for volumes in general, or just for this sp...

Re: Sub-Surface Scattering

One more thing: I'd love to see a color input slot in the Material Shadow Color
This property is not texturable on the LuxCore side.
