Re: question

Curious. That bright rectangle on the ceiling even shows up when rendered in Blender after importing the PLYs, with completely different lighting.
And it even shows on a fresh plane mesh that is slightly rotated, so it's probably not related to a problem in the ceiling mesh.

Foggy Hallway Scene

The "HallBench" example scene, rendered with some fog. I also changed the sun angle a bit. (Scene enclosed in box with null material and internal homogeneous volume, same volume also set as camera volume). For some reason the doors appear a lot more specular, which makes it obvious that their textur...

Re: Brick texture use in materials for boards

By the way, about the brick texture being 3D, you can plug in a 3D mapping node and change the mapping type to "UV mapping 3D" to make it follow your surface UV maps.

Re: Brick texture use in materials for boards

In LuxCore, the 2D/3D mapping can't be textured.

However, in Lux v2.5, there's a new "Distort" texture that can be used to at least texture the "transform" part of a texture mapping (but not rotation or scale).

It can be found in Add Node > Utils > Distort.

Yes, it doesn't look like a bug to me.

Re: Random per island help please

The random per island shape code performs a "merge doubles" operation before detecting the islands: https://github.com/LuxCoreRender/LuxCor ... pe.cpp#L43
This should probably be removed for this shape (Cycles doesn't do this).

Re: BlendLuxCore Development

Your file works fine here with 2.90 and latest v2.5.
By the way, it would be good to open a github issue for such things.

I have often heared that especially Renders with Luxcore differ a bit depending on if they are made with GPU / CPU and even the type.
In general, any such difference is a bug, and should be reported and fixed.
