Re: Tiled OIDN Denoising
Does that noise happen, if you don't give albedo and normal passes?

Then decrease emission's importance.

Re: PhotonGI cache
I can't try it now myself, but maybe set the diffuse color of the emitter mesh to black.

Re: PhotonGI cache
Don't you think, an improved, more noise based adaptivity could handle this (too)? My current problem is more with the little fireflies caused by brute force over glossy

Re: PhotonGI cache
A circle with 1 cm radius has 225 times smaller area than a 15 cm one, so mayble it needs that much more photons.

Re: OpenImageDenoise
I think, something is wrong with Avg. Shading Normal pass, and it reduces the effectiveness of OIDN.
In ASN pass three out of six faces of a cube become black.
I uploaded a simple test scene, and some images (ASN pass, combined, denoiser artifacts enlarged).

Re: PhotonGI cache
But bidir is still much brighter. I've tested it earlier (before PGI), and PT was always noticable darker than bidir.

Re: PhotonGI cache
The brightness of the benchmark scene with PGI is like PT without PGI, but both darker than bidir, that's why I thought that the difference is the caustics.

Re: PhotonGI cache
Isn't it the effect of caustics, that bidir can handle?lacilaci wrote: Mon Feb 25, 2019 12:52 pm 1. in more complex scenes(lots of objects, textures etc) pgi seem to give darker results than bidir (benchmark scene is one of them!)
