Re: High-res LEGO bricks testing

Nearing the end of my journey with making materials for the bricks, at long last :D

Here's a pretty decent-looking speckled black-silver color:

Re: Trying to nail down the LEGO material

Alright, this is more for those specialty materials that were found only in Bionicle sets. These were quasi-metallic -- more of just the regular AB plastic with a metallic paint applied, but I found a few that have more than one color in their reflections, so-called "flip flop" colors. Is ...

Re: Question on emissive plastic

Neat, thanks Dade :)

I'll try it on the volume, see how it looks

EDIT: Alright, I think just doing emission on the surface is best. Volume-based emission for this is extremely overpowering.

Question on emissive plastic

Like the title says :P I noticed with some of the LEGO materials I've been experimenting with, there are some that have some degree of emission under UV lighting and such. I know we can't do that with LuxCore, but in direct light they do have emission as well, like so: Screenshot_1.png Is there some...

After following Sharly's tutorial on SSS I gave the LEGO materials a rework, and I am very happy with what happened. luxcore_test_two.png I set the Opacity of the material to around 0.65 for this to work the way it should, ...

Trying to nail down the LEGO material

Hey folks, been a while :) Still tackling my long-running LEGO passion project lol. idk if some settings were adjusted between updates in the past few months, but I for the life of me cannot seem to nail down a proper SSS effect for the bricks. Really noticed it when making the light blue (or Maersk...

A Modern Home

prog_one.png Very early WIP of a modern home plan that I've found over at HousePlans.com. So far I have the basic blockings of the walls and roof in place. Roof needs a few more pieces, and then filling in any holes in the roof structure followed by Boolean operations to trim the excess. Hoping I'm...
