Re: Europe heat wave

Sorry for northern people.... I can imagine it's tough for you.

In Italy , at least where I live, it's more or the less the same of the past summer. :)

Don't worry, it's not dangerous...we have one of the longest life expectancy :)

Re: Bump map and geometry thickness

The object is the floor of my scene I use to make the tests. It's that showroom with many lights on the ceiling. You should already have it if you want to try it. But you have to add by yourself a bump map. In any case, the object has these measures blender_2018-08-06_12-16-52.png As engine, I'm usi...

Bump map and geometry thickness

Hi, I've m sharing a problem I've found when you have a bumped material (in this case a glossy material) applied to a geometry with no thickness. bump_shading_issue.jpg This is a comparison. Same material with same settings. I've just assigned a Solidify modifier to have thickness. Is it correct whe...

Re: Dez! projects

I really like the bevel you modelled (or added as modifier).

The only suggestion about the modelling is that you should add some subdivisions to the main and bigger "cilynder-like" parts, like the front and back ones.
It's quite visible the poligons

Oh..sorry.. I've misread!

And I've gained a tip about scene efficency.

Thanks a lot

Re: Direct Light Sampling Cache Test

Surely I didn't understand the Samples/sec value. I understood that higher is better meaning that when the rays calculations are easy, the CPU (or GPU) can complete more rays calculation in the same time and it can sample more.

Nice to know that it's not like this.

Really good and useful.
I've seen that you add a cyclic mode and now you make me eager ( ) to have more modes like ping-pong and a reverse mode, do you think it's doable ??

Re: BlendLuxCore Development

I'm working on a statistics panel that shows some stats and settings of a render slot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7ATOU5c-B8&list=PLRIFDztiB7485HAtfvqTSiOyucvtzBkN7&t=0s&index=12 You can also compare two slots. If you have ideas about missing stats you'd like to see there, or about functional...

Re: Direct Light cache: hit rate not good

So, if I'd like to test different settings, what should be the workflow?

Something like:
- launch render
- when I'm quite satisfied of the sampling, I press Pause of the render
- then in the image editor I change the denoiser settings

is it correct?
