Re: (Open)Subdiv and Displacement shapes

This looks so good, hopefully i can test it over the weekend. Q: Is or will Volume Displacement be possible? For example - Lee Griggs's Volume Mesh https://pro2-bar-s3-cdn-cf6.myportfolio.com/5d9b67727331b33762de2db2d0ead9cf/0a5c9db8-668c-4afc-a669-a587e4abd04a_rw_1920.jpg?h=c03a8a7f4c3ef6044dcac0ae...

Streamlined workflow, what exists is fully automatized and problem free and users in most cases only need to press render button. Luxcore is all over the place and you do...

Re: openCL render issues: unknown pattern, sporadic white particles with Matte translucent

Been often experiencing the same issue. With Path CPU too. Specularity and something about normals at grazing angles. Even with black 0 or IOR 1, there's reflection. While back sides seem ok. It's back sides which are not ok :) Indeed. Thanks for correction. And to further correct myself I think it'...

Re: CGI tech news box

IDK, but I imagine that, with such a vast number of PTs around and minds tackling same issues, if fireflies & noise were so simple to solve, than everyone would be doing it... right? ;) BTW, now I see that my post is written in wrong order, was tired and loosing attention... in short - I'm eagerly a...

Re: CGI tech news box

Oh, oh... Clarisse IFX Rendering improvements: Fireflies Filtering Some information from Sam: The attribute is called Fireflies Filtering, this new solution works all the time even on LPEs. It removes 1st generation fireflies and other generation too. Which means that we will remove clamping: it giv...

I think it's also been mentioned before, iirc, there's a limit to how low roughness can be set :? i don't kno...

Adaptive Environment Sampling on CPU and GPU

Adaptive Environment Sampling on CPU and GPU https://cgg.mff.cuni.cz/~jaroslav/papers/2018-adaptiveibl/teaser.jpg "Office" and "Living room" scenes rendered with classical environment sampling (Baseline) and our adaptive strategy. We present both CPU and GPU implementation results and show that our...

Re: LuxCore v2.3 proposed features

But roughness 1 ? Why ? Just a proof of concept. :) It's physically real or at least far closer than single-scattered model. To make milky, etched, brushed glass, snow... :| Ask architects why they love naturalistic imagery, putting glass wherever they possibly can. They love to play, paint, ...

Re: LuxCore v2.3 proposed features

I think in general disney should be a backbone for some ubermaterial. One to rule them all. I prefer stay away from uber-uber-one-to-rule-all shader, since a scene with lots of different materials simply chokes and even RTX cores can't do shit about it (and we get back to CPUs ;) ). Also, how hard ...
