Re: Holdout support

This sounds like a great feature! How is it going to behave in combinations? For example, a holdout material behind glass? I can imagine to place it behind a window, so that you get the glass reflections from inside the room and the remaining transparency to make an "overlay" with another video that...

Re: Can't set my rendering device to OpenCL GPU

I don't know how the task manager defines GPU usage but this seems to be normal behavior in windows. I also see 0% GPU usage there, and GPU rendering definitely works. Also you will always get CPU usage because there is auxilliary stuff to do, for example data transfer to the GPU to manage. Try to r...

Re: Optix denoiser imagepipeline plugin

You can change the viewport denoiser back to OIDN in the render properties, viewport panel. Right, thanks! I only saw the final render setings. The crashes need to be fixed at the root. Towards this purpose, it's actually good to put known unstable features as defaults to get as much data on the pr...

Re: Optix denoiser imagepipeline plugin

And here's my test, with a rather simple scene and an RTX 2070. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YS7f3s5Ikso Works really well and super useful. Only the frequent crashes are a bit problematic right now. Maybe you can make it opt-in (like CUDA/optix in the addon preferences) until it is fixed? Or is ...

Re: OpenCL Error

The problem seems to be gone with Optix enabled.

Re: Optix/RTX support

I just found out that I had to enable CUDA/OPTIX in the addon preferences :!:

Now it seems to work (and still on Game-Ready driver as well, just to conform with BYOB's statement).

Re: OpenCL Error

Indeed, there is about a 100MB increase per frame, at 1920x1080 resolution.

Re: Optix/RTX support

I had a pre-450 driver until today. Could it be that it doesn't use optix because I had already compiled the OCL-kernel with the old driver? Wasn't it so that each LuxCore installation now only compiles once?

OpenCL Error

Using yesterday's daily build of BlendLuxCore on Win10. I just had an error with OpenCL trying to render an animation. It ran fine for 57 frames, then aborted on frame 58. Only rotating objects in the scene, no light changes etc. error below, full console output for frame 58 attached. Won't be relev...
