UE4 for archviz test demo

Seem to me that UE is encroaching ever more on traditional archviz production options. I'm not from the field and cannot comment competently on the drawbacks of using UE or other Game Engines compared to a Blender/V-Ray or Blender/LuxCore workflow for archviz animations. But this is quite impressive...

Re: LuxCore for Maya

Hi motaman, You can definitely have a look at our Maya plugin. It is regularly updated and works with all recent Maya versions, including 2019. Most of it is in C++, though there are also Python scripts for the UI menu, render settings etc. Not sure how much you will be able to adapt, it is tightly ...

Re: PhotonGI cache

yes it seems there is some voodoo going on in vray's case. my guess is that both vray and corona have a lot of workarounds going on with their caches. That is probably also the reason that they are the only engines(redshift too) that do caching... There is no universal solution to this problem. Nop...

Nice.
Looks like an interesting scene by the way, will you show it once it's finished?
Pretty cool!
Nice render indeed!
Though I think lacilaci may add to this box a big GI Caching On and Ditch BCD Denoiser switch.....

Re: CGI tech news box

interesting. So they have the same problem with photon mapping as other renderers (splotches, too many settings and gpu memory, but working caustics). Standard photon mapping is a robust and well known method but has been largely superseded by far better methods (progressive photon mapping -> stoch...

Re: Is this CGI or a photo?

Most of the images in the IKEA catalogues are rendered. Much more cost effective than building up the furniture and getting it photographed. Software is VRAY and 3ds Max, for special effects (fire, water, smoke) Phoenix FD for Max. More info: https://architizer.com/blog/practice/details/see-how-ikea...

Re: Just another render

Another well done interior render Sharylbg, acrylic chairs look great. whoa, there's a lot of bluring and artifacting going on on the ground and on the door in the shadow. Especially for 22hrs. of rendering  why bidir? Dark, mostly indirectly lit areas are hard to get noise free with pathtrac...
