Re: BlendLuxCore-v2.1alpha4-mac64-opencl

Normally I would rarely use LuxCore standalone, I'm used to open Blender, switch to LuxCore engine, add meshes, render preview, add textures, change render engine and so forth. When then a crash happens I have no file (Blender saves versions on its own but not necessarily the crashing ones). But th...

Re: BlendLuxCore-v2.1alpha4-mac64-opencl

Hi Rob, first of all thanks for the great work with the MacOS version of LuxCore! Having no coding skills I'm hesitant to post on the developer forum and opened this user support thread instead. Mac OS 10.12 support: I had picked 10.13 because it was convenient and a quick starting point. Once thing...

Re: Mac OS

I'd like to suggest to avoid the hassle with MacOS OpenCL-versions and to concentrate on stable non-OpenCL releases. Maybe partial OpenCL-support like only for denoiser but not renderer. Several users prefer the Bidir engine wich is CPU-only anyways. A metal transition would be very welcome but that...

Re: Mac OS

Can you show the relevant part of the file? Maybe you used the wrong quote character? Success!!! Deleted the food scene, downloaded again, changed "PATHOCL" to "PATHCPU" and suddenly all those delicious things appear on my screen! Works with both standalone versions (openCL and ...

Re: The I N D I N I E house

Really great lighting!
I'd give the lamps with the nice IES shapes a more yellowish hue though (warm-white LED style).

Re: Mac OS

Thanks B.Y.O.B. Changing from "PATHOCL" to "PATHCPU" in the render cfg results in just another "Unterminated quote in property: renderengine.type" error. There was hoping to initiate a LuxCoreUI crash so I could help @robbrown with the crashlog. (Currently trying to bui...

Re: Mac OS

Also the non-openCL version crashes with the sample files. On my MacBook I can't open the test scenes with non-openCl luxcoreUI: RenderConfig loading error: Unknown render engine type in RenderEngine::ToProperties(): PATHOCL When I open the blend files in Blender with blendluxcore non-openCl (CPU-P...

Re: Clouds

I just wanted to do some ground fog, but then I added in a few mountains and two cloud layers on top. While the cloud texture looks promising I think the distribution does not yet. Clouds close to the horizon should show distinct horizontal layering like the ground fog does. Maybe the volume boxes ...

Re: playing with caustics

Thanks Charles.

I'm on a MacBook with with a quad-core i7 and a GT750M (see signature) which is not quite sufficient for animation rendering.
For Xmas I'm looking for something more adequate with a hexacore at the least.

OMG a lashing tree!
You have a swiss/german blender localization ("Es wird Frühling und die Bäume schlagen aus") with wrong time setting??
