Re: playing with caustics!
The render speed of the Ryzen octocore in my new PC is not as fast as I hoped for. Actually it works quite well. Apparently Intel CPUs with similar core and GHz specs have advantages in speed and power efficiency, but not equivalent to their price premium. ________ And now for an attempt with gloss...

Re: playing with caustics
wich ryzen ? and how fast you expect it to be ? Ryzen 2700X (see signature). I was comparing it to the Intel quadcore i7 2.3GHz in my MacBook and on the pool scene I posted above the Ryzen does ~950k samples/s whereas the i7 makes ~440k (one frame takes 40 min on the Ryzen). I was hoping a newer CP...

Maybe this is a Windows thing, like on Linux CPU rendering would be faster? I thi...

Re: Usability and Luxcore workflow streamlining ideas
so something like a quick and automated world volume setup, with maybe only distance parameter.. could be nice. Yes, only without the godrays :) The problem with realistic clouds and atmospheres is that you would need to model in true scales to get the effects right, like putting 3000m large mounta...

Re: Usability and Luxcore workflow streamlining ideas
Regarding sunsky: I'd like to see a "haze" option that fades distant objects automatically into the sky color (basically all materials would be mixed with emissive sky color according to their distance from the camera). This would provide a depth effect to exterior renders. It would be sim...

RTX card does not work with Cycles, but with LuxBlendCore which shows again the superiority of this renderer
