Re: GPU render experience
Hi, I figured out a small workaround. If you select a few lines in the console console.PNG and you wait a little bit (up to a few minutes), blender gets responsive again. Rendering is going on, the rendering viewport is not updating, but you can move inside the image and work with blender. If you wa...

Re: Where the bump gets strange
The idea is to get rid of UVs so a procedural map can be place e.g as a bump on a part of the product. This shader is reused on other parts of the product, too. The size of e.g. the noise should be the same on every part of the product, regardless of UVs or mesh density. Just depending on real world...

Re: Where the bump gets strange
"expose bump sampling distance in triplanar bump texture, too"
Sorry for being "kleinlich"

Re: Where the bump gets strange
*happy*
thank you.
Do you plan to add the "Sampling Distance" to the "Triplanar Bump Mapping" Node, too?

Re: Where the bump gets strange
What happens when you get close?
Create a 2cm by 2cm cube on top and zoom in, so that the small cube is for example 4cm. How does the bump behave then?

Re: Where the bump gets strange
This is exactly what I'm looking for.
This means, I have to wait until the "bumpsamplingdistance" is available in the blender plugin?

Re: Where the bump gets strange
I see what you mean, but this is the cycles shader, there is a luxcore material, too.
This cycles shader is for reference.
Sorry, I should have saved it with the luxcore material shader selected.

Re: Where the bump gets strange
Oooookkay, now I'm really confused. I thought this is the bump workflow: why_not_a_bump.PNG And I thought this is vertex displacement which is not in the sample scene: is_this_vertex_displacement.PNG Where did I set vertex displacement in the sample scene and what is the correct way to do a bump? Th...

Re: Where the bump gets strange
Can you post a test scene with something like a cube or a sphere and the same material ? Hi, here is the file. https://drive.google.com/file/d/13TIrYyCk9oFkFmFsSbFb-aDJFhTMsE5c/view?usp=sharing Inside of it, there is the 16baked map and precedural noises. You can use cycles and the procedural map f...
