Re: HOWTO - compile on OSX 2020

Re: PhotonGI caustic cache re-factoring

Classic BiDir might work, i tested the BiDirVM and caustic cache, they were very slow on huge scene with 40m pool and 0.1m juice glass. But seems like i have working settings now: path.russianroulette.depth = 3 path.russianroulette.cap = 0.5 path.pathdepth.total = 17 path.pathdepth.diffuse = 17 path...

Re: HDRI Manipulation (scaling)

The scale won't change reflection size, i don't think there is option for it.

Re: Updated principled shader

Installed fresh BlendLuxCore-latest-win64-opencl Bidir. There are swimming pool walls using air volume priority 0, swimming pool floor using water volume priority 1. All that is interacting with glass of juice on the right side of image. Left side of image, water in swimming pool has also priority 0...

Re: Updated principled shader

I like the picture on the right :D but what's this about (in layman's terms) I don't know. I have 2 builds, one with rolled back commit. For this scene, the old seems better, but also i have the scenes crashing with old rolled back commit (but there was scattering scale 100000 and scene was 0.0026 ...

Re: Updated principled shader

There are some volume priority anomalies with non overlapping volumes.
c.jpg
When i use priority 0 for all,
or i use 0 for world and 3 for glass and 4 for juice,
then it looks like that:

But in case of 0 for world and 4 for glass and 3 for juice,
the outcome is different:

If even Fox aka Meelis says it's a long render, it's a loooong render :D
There was also an Formula car animation render done in 1 year, if i recall it correct.
And the cocoa cup with spoon a side, rendered by many PC's.
My renders are short compared to above.
