That should be the kernel compiling. It's supposed to happen only once in 2.4
Although I did have it happen again on occasion. Definitely not all the time, though.
The files are stored in some temp folder which I think gets deleted sometimes. It should let us define a folder where to put them maybe?

Re: Article about free renderers, featuring LuxCoreRender
Yeah, I think it is. Seems to work fine in 2.79.
Just tried it for a bit out of nostalgia, I used to play it with it many years ago.

Move VDB volume
Hi, So currently to move a VDB volume I'm doing this: https://i.imgur.com/1OW13od.png Because the volume does not move with the domain, I have to separately move it where the domain is. Is there a way to make the volume stick to the domain? The mapping is set to UV because I was trying if the differ...

Re: Displacement problem
Damn, I can't believe I didn't think of that. It should've been obvious given where the breaks occurred.
Thanks a lot!

Displacement problem
Why does this happen with displacement? In this image it's just a regular UV Sphere, but any object I use it seems to break it apart. Using 2.4 (tried last from the site and also one of the beta builds I used before) with Blender 2.83.3 and 2.83.1 It's actually the first time I tried to use displace...

Volumes for clear glass
Hi, If I do a clear glass (no color), do I need to add a volume to it for it to be accurate and interact properly with the rendering engine? It doesn't seem to make a difference to me visually, at least in my testing, but wondering if it would be important in some cases (besides intersecting volumes)?

Re: Viewport render crash on GPU Cuda
Yep, that seems to have fixed the half-image issues. Thank you very much!
I'll see if there are still crashes too. Before it crashed quite often with both cards and was much stable with just one.

Re: Viewport render crash on GPU Cuda
As an add-on to my post above, I had a LuxCore 2.4 alpha install and tried it and the issue does not happen in that.

Re: Viewport render crash on GPU Cuda
Hi, Just came to the forums to report some crashes/weird stuff and saw this thread. I think it might be related. Using CUDA as well, but I think the behavior is the same with OpenCL. I also have two cards, an RTX 2070 Super and a GTX 1060. The 2070 is the main card, that is the one which I have the ...

Re: Double sided translucent paper
Thank you for the answer.
The translucent materials look so good in LuxCore it would be great if this was supported too at some point to make them even more versatile.
